Choosing curtains
- Drapery or sheer?
- Drapery fabrics block more light and add warmth to a room. Sheers soften daylight while keeping the view. Many rooms use both, on a double track.
- Which heading?
- Pleats give tailored, regular folds. Eyelets slide on a rod and feel more relaxed. Ripple-fold runs on a track and hangs in even waves.
- Lined or unlined?
- A lining adds body, helps the curtain hang well and protects the fabric from sun. A blackout lining darkens bedrooms.
- Planning motorisation
- Decide before walls and ceilings are finished, so power can be run to the track.
