Good to know
Choosing a wooden floor
- Laminate, SPC or real wood?
- Laminate is the most economical wood look. SPC handles water far better. Engineered and solid wood are real timber and can be refinished.
- Kitchens and ground floors
- SPC is the safer choice where water or damp is likely. Laminate and real wood should stay out of bathrooms.
- The base floor matters
- Any floor needs a level, dry base underneath. We check it before laying and tell you if it needs work.
- Herringbone
- It needs more cutting and labour than straight planks, so it costs more to lay.
